Great Team work
The U13’s (years 7,8 and 2x9) were like a new team.
U13’s played and only had 10 boys, no subs, and I told Hackney from the start that we had a mixed bag. They were fine until they started getting hit, then the moans came in. However, they also played 2x Y9’s who gave as good as they got.
As with Ed, we have struggled with commitment in terms of numbers, and behaviour of some of the boys, however that went out of the window on Sunday, and they really turned up to play…taking the first game convincingly 25-15 with relative ease simply by good ball to hand and commitment in the rucks / breakdowns, then Hackney greatly extended the pitch size for game 2 and to try and test fitness of our more robust players and out-flank our wingers and also advising that handing off was allowed, this also didn’t work, what it did do is start a few of the boys acting as leaders talking more to open up their defences, with another pounding straight through their game line to a 15-10 win double… Dead chuffed with the boys and makes it worth it.
